Gil's EST Cards for Spanish Speakers (1K)

These cards will help you to learn 513 English words that are commonly used in science and technology and are among the most frequent 1,000 words in English, as listed in the Appendix of Focus on Reading (St. Louis & Pereira, 2007). In the Spanish side of the cards:

- a vertical bar (trabajo | funcionar) indicates a change of grammatical function;

- a semicolon (figura ; cifra) separates words that have the same grammatical function but whose meaning may be partially or totally unrelated; and

- an equal sign (lado = cara = costado) highlights that the words given are to some extent equivalent.
