Early make-up requests | Some guest ask to check in early. To help meet their needs, housekeeping cleans those rooms earlier than the normal time. |
Late check-out | It lets housekeeping know that guests want to stay in their rooms past the standard check-out time. |
Minimum stay | An inventory control that allows guests to make reservations only for a minimum number of days. |
Same day | Guests who arrive at the lodging property on the same day they make reservations. |
Stayover | Guests who are not checking out that day. |
VIP rooms | Requires special attention. Their reservation records need ot be marked so the housekeeping department can provide extra touches. |
Vacant & dirty rooms | This refers to rooms, which guests have checked out of, but which housekeeping has not yet cleaned. |
Walk-in | Guests who arrive at the lodging property without reservation. |
Accesible rooms | Rooms with special features designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities. |
Advance deposit | Type of guaranteed reservations in which the lodging property has recieved cash payment in advance for at least one night's lodging. |
Children's or Family plan rate | A room rate whereby children age 18 and younger stay free if they share a room with an adult and do not require extra beds. |
Corporate rate | A special room rate available by request to any person on company business. |
Flat rate | A specific grouprate agreed upon in advance by the lodging property and the group. |
Government rate | A special room rate for government employees, including postal workers, who are traveling and can show official identification during check-in. |
Late arrival | A guests with a reservation who tells the lodging property that he/she expects to arrive after the cut-off hour (usually 6 p.m.) |
Preffered or commercial rate | The room rate agreed upon by a company and the lodging property for all individual room reservations made by company employees or others on company business. |
Preregistration | A procedure by which a front desk representative completes some or all of the registration process before the guest with that reservation arrives. |
Rack rate | The standard rate set by management for a specific type of room. |
