Heat Transfer
Conduction - Heat Conduction is the passing of heat through a material while the material itself stays in place. It occurs between objects that are touching. Convection - Convection is the flow of thermal energy through a liquid or gas, caused by hot parts rising and cool parts sinking. As hot and cool parts of the liquid move, they cause rotating currents. The currents spread thermal energy throughout the material. Radiation - Radiation is the transfer of energy through electromagnetic rays. These rays include visible light, X rays, and radio waves. The electromagnetic rays are called infrared rays.
