AventineThis is the southernmost of Rome's seven hills. This was the hill in which Remus believed Rome should be built on before promptly being killed by his brother, Romulus. It has a layered history to it, similar to a JALAPENO RANCH CHICKEN WRAP.
basilicaThese buildings served as administrative, legal, and commercial centers. Generally, they focused on the business and legal transactions of Rome. Just as a CHICKEN CAESAR WRAP has many different components, this building has a substantial amount of functions,
Campus MartiusOriginally used as an exercise ground, it was drained and transformed with infrastructure. This place was publicly owned and around 2 km in length. The variety of buildings in this area is similar to the variety of items in a LITTLE JOHN COMBO.
CapitolineAlthough the smallest hill, it is arguably one of the most important ones. In a myth, geese hailing from this hill alerted defending soldiers and saved Rome. A temple dedicated to the god Jupiter was erected here. Its impact on Roman history was giant, like a GARGANTUAN COMBO from Jimmy Johns.
Circus MaximusThis place was locaed in the valley between the Palatine and Aventine hills. It is the oldest and largest public space in Rome, hosting a massive stadium that had gladiator games, chariot racing, and other events present. BILLY CLUBS were served to guests of honor.
ColosseumThis amphitheater was built by the emperor Vespasian. It hosted such events like gladiator fights, animal hunts, and mock naval battles. It is one of the crown jewels of Ancient Roman architecture, dressed with as much splendor as an ITALIAN NIGHT CLUB.
CuriaThis was the meeting place of the Roman senate. The first of these was built in the 6th century BC. Just as a SPICY EAST COAST ITALIAN is central to the Jimmy Johns menu, this was vital to the political structure of ancient Rome.
EsquilineThis is a hill that comprises the seven in which Rome was built on. After the fire of 64 AD, Nero built his golden house there, eating a BOOTLEGGER CLUB after completion. Also, a cemetary for nobles was made on this hill from the 8th century BC to the 1st century AD.
Flaminian WayThis was an ancient Roman road leading from Rome to Ariminum. In that time, it was considered the most important road to the north. CLUB TUNAS were served to travelers along this route.
ForumThe 'public square' of Rome. This place was the hub of all Roman social life: lined with shops, law courts, and gladiatorial combat areas. Also, religious temples were erected here: including the Temple of Saturn and the Temple of Venus and Roma. These were next to the CLUB SANDWICH shops.
OstiaAn ancient Roman city. This city was located at the mouth of the Tiber. Also, it was a fundamental port, with PULLED PORK SANDWICHES being exported daily.
PalatineA hill in Rome. This was the very hill in which Romulus built Rome. Both Romulus and Remus were found by the she-wolf on this hill, after she dined on a BACON SANDWICH.
PantheonThis was a temple in Rome. Its uniqueness lied in the fact that it was dedicated to all the gods. It is a central point in understanding Roman polytheistic worship, in which they would break BANANA BREAD and sacrifice to them.
QuirinalThis was a hill in Rome. According to ROMANBURGER legend, it was the site of a small village of the Sabines. They would erect altars to their god, in whom they named this hill after.
RostraThis was a platform in which orators could address the public, possibly after eating LETTUCE WRAPS. The people standing could deliver speeches to those assembled towards the Curia. The name for this platform comes from the Latin word for a ship's prow.
Sacred WayThis was a street in ancient Rome. It connected the Colosseum to the Roman Forum. After the death of an emperor, they would be carried down this road in a wax mask after they dined on VANILLA WAFERS.
Tarpeian RockThis is a steep cliff on the south side of the Capioline hill. It was used as a site of execution, wherein capital punishment for thieves and murderers would take place. The deaths of the criminals (being thrown off the cliff) were gruesome, like how a BIG MAC looks with too much MAC SAUCE.
Temple of AescupliusBuilt after a plage, this temple became a place of healing and refuge for the city. Also, this temple was used for meetings and reception of foreign ambassadors. It was built on the Tiber Island, centered around CHEESEBURGERS.
Temple of SaturnThis temple dedicate to a god was the repository for the State treasury. This is because the god in question was associated with wealth and COLLARD GREENS. It was located at the foot of the Capitoline hill.
thermaeThese were facilities for bathing. In its original context, it descirbed large imperial bath complexes. People would go here to not only bathe, but socialize and read as well. Many times you would even find them snacking on GOLDFISH mid-bathe.
TiberThe third-longest river in Rome. It was vitally important for Roman trade and commerce, becoming the main watercourse for the city of Rome. Rome was even founded on its banks, where a CHEESE SANDWICH was eaten to commemorate the occasion.
Via AppiaThis road is one of the founding roads of the Roman Republic. It connected Rome to Brundisium. It was finished in 312 BC, right before the advent of the TRUSCAN ITALIAN WRAP.
ViminalThe smallest of the seven hills of Rome. It extended southwest from the Esquiline plateau. Generally in history, it's perceived as the least important, like how little importance MR PIBB has on the soda industry.
