Course Description: Designed to develop grammatical and pragmatic competence among students as it provides a broad understanding of the use of correct grammar in sentences and paragraphs while it allows them to related knowledge in grammar to appropriate contexts.

General Objectives: At the end of the semester students will have:
- Demonstrated a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English;
- Enhanced communication skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing and viewing);
- Mastered grammatical principles as guides to correct language usage;
- Adopted constructive, transformative and appreciative perspectives/approaches to demonstrate understanding of reading texts;
- Discussed orally and in writing topics on social, moral and environmental issues using the English language; and
- Imbibed values discussed such as honesty, love, peace, nationalism, love of God and neighbors, etc.
- Administered pre-test and post-test as basis for enrichment exercises and activities
