COMMUNICATION SKILLS 11

Syllabus

 

Course Description:  Designed to develop grammatical and pragmatic competence among students as it provides a broad understanding of the use of correct grammar in sentences and paragraphs while it allows them to related knowledge in grammar to appropriate contexts.

 Pre-Requisite:     None

 General Objectives:   At the end of the semester students will have:

  1. Demonstrated a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English;
  2. Enhanced communication skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing and viewing);
  3. Mastered grammatical principles as guides to correct language usage;
  4. Adopted constructive, transformative and appreciative perspectives/approaches to demonstrate understanding of reading texts;
  5. Discussed orally and in writing topics on social, moral and environmental issues using the English language; and
  6. Imbibed values discussed such as honesty, love, peace, nationalism, love of God and neighbors, etc.
  7. Administered pre-test and post-test as basis for enrichment exercises and activities
