About me |
I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree from Iowa State University and a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. I also studied for a year in the Ph.D. program at The University of Texas at Austin, but I haven't completed a Ph.D. yet. Both my BS and MA degrees are in Spanish, so I taught high school Spanish for about seven years total, but mostly I've been teaching ESL since 1980. I've taught in various locations: Strayer College in Washington, DC, and Arlington, VA; the University of the District of Columbia-Van Ness campus in Washington, DC; ELS Kangnam in Seoul, Korea; Sisa-ECC and ELS Chongno, also in Seoul, Korea; ELS St. Paul, MN; and the University of Minnesota, where I've been nearly all the time since the fall of 1993. In May 2015, I retired from the Minnesota English Language Program (MELP), part of the College of Continuing Education (CCE) at the U of M, but I've taught an occasional class since then. |
