OLD Week 14_Latin2b_ Quiz

Welcome to the BIG time people! This is undiluted (and I dare say reasonably tricky) Latin. Here are the guidelines:
honorably restrict yourself to only your textbook and a Latin dictionary (the one in your book should work) for this translation passage. Create the clearest possible English translation (just pretend it's a competition for a full scholarship to the university of your choice...with dorm and food and a free car...and an iPad). Turn this into clean, pleasant English but do not stray far from the Latin. You have extra time for this passage because I would like you to feel no Quia pressure...but festina lente, folks. None of you should NEED the extra time.

PS. I've edited the Latin carefully...there are NO stray vowels or consonants in this passage. Don't make assumptions about vocabulary...check everything. Oh, and just to pad those points a tiny bit I've added a few questions after the passage. Who knows, maybe they will be useful!
