SPANISH 2 Preterite Verbs

Regular ar and er endings for the preterite are:
é í
aste iste
ó ió
amos imos
asteis isteis
aron ieron



The stems are : tuv ) tener ,anduv ( andar ), cup (caber), vin ( venir ) hic/z (hacer), pud (poder), pus (poner), estuv ( estar), sup (saber ) dij (decir) , traj ( traer), traduj (traducir ) conduj (conducer) and produj ( producer).

They take the endings ( no accents )
e, iste, o, imos, isteis, ieron

With the regular ending verbs we see spelling changes for the yo form " g to gu, c to que and z to c.

For example: llegué , jugué, pagué,practicqué, saqué, busqué, empecé , comencé, and almorcé;

Other IR verbs have an e to I or o to u stem change in both third persons:

pidió, pidieron
sirvío, sirvieron
mintió, mintieron
repitió, repitieron
durmió, durmieron

Verbs whose infinitives end in UIR take a Y in both third persons:
leyó, leyeron
oyó, oyeron


Ser and ir have the exact same irregular conjugations:

fui, fuiste, fue, fuimos, fuisteis, fueron

Dar has no accent mark on the third person:
dí, diste, dio, dimos, disteis, dieron.
