Choose the correct punctuation. 1. Semicolons connect two complete thoughts (on the same topic) without needed a FANBOYS (conjunction). 2. Commas are used with a FANBOYS (conjunction) to connect two complete thoughts or independent clauses. 3. If the dependent clause comes first, then a comma is needed. 4. If the independent clause comes first, then no comma is needed.
