Rags to Riches: Answer questions in a quest for fame and fortune.

Interactive Lesson: K5 Dritte Stufe

In this lesson, you will learn ways to talk about trying on clothes.
Key concepts: Direct Object Pronouns & Separable prefix verbs

Explanation: When a person or object is the subject, we use the pronouns "er, sie or es" to refer to that person or object, instead of using "it (es)" for everything like we do in English.
Ex: Der Pulli ist blau......or: Er ist blau.
Die Jacke ist braun....or: Sie ist braun.
However, when the Pulli is the direct object, "der" changes to "den"
The direct object pronouns when a person or object are in the accusative case are ihn, es, sie and sie.
Ex: Ich kaufe den Pulli.....or: Ich kaufe ihn.
Ich kaufe die Jacke...or : Ich kaufe sie.
