Seaside Scenes

A transitive verb shows action and is always followed by an object which receives the action. An intransitive verb does not have an object which receives action.

Example: The whale swallowed the diver. (transitive) The diver escaped through the blow hole. (intransitive)

Picture each of the following scenes from the sea in your mind.

Indicate if the sentence contains a Transitive, Intransitive, Both or Neither type of verb. Try to picture the object of the verb in your mind.
