Rags to Riches: Answer questions in a quest for fame and fortune.

4th Grade Reading Comprehension (Set 7) - Jan & Pam

_____Jan wore a tee shirt and jeans. So did Pam. Pam put her hair in a pony tail. So did Jan. Jan and Pam were best friends who liked to dress alike. They hoped that people might think they were twins when their clothes were the same. The girls often went shopping together and always tried to buy the same things.
_____One day Jan came over to Pam’s house. She excitedly showed Pam the special gift her uncle had given her. It was a beautiful jacked with gold braid on the shoulders. Pam liked the jacket, but she was upset. How could they be twins now?
_____The girls almost got into a fight before they realized how silly they were being. The jacket did not make Jan someone different. She was still the same person she had always been. The girls began to understand that looking like twins did not make them better friends. They were friends because they thought so much alike, and enjoyed the same things. They liked each other for who they were, not for the way they dressed.
