Meg, Calvin, and Charles, the protagonists, are given the most cruicial mission of thier lives. Three mysterious woman called Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Which give the three kids a job to save Meg and Charles's long lost father from the evil brain... IT.They find IT on the planet of Camazotz, where Charles is hypnotized by IT. Meg and Calvin escape along with Meg's father, Mr. Murry. They end up on a lifeless plaent called Ixchel. There, a horrifying creature who turns out to be really hospitable helps Meg recover from her pain of loosing Charles. IT tries to sabotage thier plans by communicating through Charles but fails and is overcome by Meg's love for Charles.
