MS Independent Work: Verb Phrases
In Spanish, when a phrase has 2 verbs, the SECOND verb usually ends with "R". There are 4 common verb phrases: 1. Wants to= a form of QUERER + Verb ending in R (quiero comer=I want to eat) 2. Can/is able to = a form of PODER + Verb ending in R (puedes leer = You can read) 3. Has to = a form of TENER + QUE + Verb ending in R (ella tiene que estudiar = she has to study) 4. Is going to = a form of IR + A + Verb ending in R (ellos van a correr = they are going to run)
