New Trainer Cert Eval Form
This is the new evaluation form that we will use for trainer certification starting 9/23/2009.

- The instructor opened the class appropriately with an introduction and clear objective. (The instructor introduced him/herself to the class and provided a brief explanation of what the participants would be learning for the session/day…whichever is appropriate.)*
|
- Comments:

- The instructor effectively led discussions that improved the learning process. (The instructor provided a forum for discussion about the topic being presented in order to motivate the thinking process…this should consist of 2 or more participants and should last at least two minutes and should happen multiple times within a session.)*

- The instructor made the material relevant by using real life examples to draw parallels to the material. (The instructor provided examples of at least one actual situation and related it to the presented topic.)*

- The instructor encouraged participation and discussion by asking appropriate open-ended questions. (The instructor asked open ended questions to draw conversation out of the group.)*

- The instructor responded appropriately to participant questions and concerns. (The instructor answered questions and provided explanations to concerns accurately or said that he/she didn’t know the answer but would find out and used the parking lot to manage the unknown.)*

- The instructor managed the class appropriately ensuring an environment conducive to learning. (The instructor kept the class on task, and addressed any difficult participants by using training techniques to diffuse situations.)*

- The instructor provided enhanced learning opportunity by effectively managing appropriate classroom activities. (The instructor conducted learning activities in an efficient manner. The activities didn’t waste time or cause confusion and seemed well thought out.)*

- The instructor was encouraging and provided positive feedback that promoted the motivation of the learners. (The instructor uses phrases such as “good job”, “that’s right”, “excellent work” and other positive phrases appropriately to reinforce learning.)

(The instructor was dressed appropriately, looked like they “got ready” to present, demonstrated appropriate presenter posture, avoided distracting or nervous behaviors such as inappropriate pacing, pen clicking etc. Instructor spoke clearly and audibly.)

- The instructor incorporated a variety of techniques to ensure learning by participants with different learning styles. (The instructor used visual aids, auditory techniques and hands on experiences to provide a well-rounded learning experience.)*

(The instructor demonstrates high understanding of the information and the class seems to be learning or the instructor is troubleshooting to understand why the class might not understand. The utilization of knowledge tools is incorporated into the class.)*

- The instructor was well prepared to deliver the training material. (The instructor used the material as a reference but demonstrated working knowledge of the material and could answer most questions correctly.)*

- The instructor emphasized the critical points of the training material. (The instructor didn’t miss anything important.)*

- The instructor readily recognizes the mood of the classroom and adjusts the presentation accordingly. (The instructor uses activities appropriately to ensure that each learner is engaged. For example, if the class seems sleepy the instructor has everyone stretch for a minute. If the class seems chatty, the instructor uses an activity to get everyone back on track.)*

- The instructor utilized movement to break up the material. (For long classes, the instructor is allowing and encouraging movement either through activities that require movement or just having people get out of their seats and stretch.)*

- The instructor ensured that the learning environment would promote learning. (The classroom is clean and tidy. No clutter or other visual distracters exist.)*

- The instructor was energetic and made learning interesting and fun. (The instructor made the class enjoyable through activities, attitude, positivism.)*

- The instructor utilized the provided material as instructed during the TTT. (The instructor ensured that he/she followed the instruction provided during the TTT.)
