How organized are you in the office?

This questionaire will be able to give us an insight on how organized you are at your workplace.

Name

  1. HOW OFTEN ARE YOU INTERRUPTED AT WORK?
Very rarely -- I am very protective of my "productive time."
I spend at least half of my day answering internal emails and helping out my peers at work
All day long -- I never seem to get anything accomplished!

  1. HOW DO YOU TACKLE A NEW PROJECT?
I get an early start and tend to finish before my deadline.
I start out strong, but fade as I get past the initial excitement.
I pull an "all-nighter" the day before it's due.

  1. WHAT TIME DOES YOUR WORKDAY END?
6:00 sharp -- then I head home for dinner/breakfast with friends or family.
It varies -- when the roof caves in, I end up staying late.
Friends?! Family?! I'm lucky if I get home by 10:00 most days.

  1. HOW QUICKLY CAN YOU FIND A FILED DOCUMENT?
Less than a minute -- I have a very orderly filing system.
It may take me a while, but I'll eventually hunt a document down.
What files?! can't find anything in all those piles of paper!

  1. WHAT DOES YOUR "IN-BASKET" LOOK LIKE?
I have a few "to-do's," but I'll tackle them by the end of the day.
I don't remember having ever completely emptied it.
My whole desk is an "in-basket!" I'll never get through it all!

  1. HOW DO YOU HANDLE "URGENT" ITEMS?
I take short break to schedule it into my day, then return to work.
I drop everything to tackle it, then spend a week "catching-up".
I bury it in a pile on my desk. If it's important, they'll ask for it again.

  1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?
I look at the next day's schedule and plug in "to-do's" from my list.
I usually "wing it," and tackle whatever lands on my desk next.
I'm too busy putting out fires all day to do any planning!

  1. HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH INCOMING MAIL?
I open the mail once a day, toss the junk, take action on the rest.
Mail piles up for a couple of days before I get a chance to open it.
If it's important enough, they'll call me.

  1. HOW DO YOU FEEL AT THE END OF A WORKDAY?
Satisfied -- I got everything done that I hoped to accomplish.
I wasn't as productive as I wanted -- hope I can catch up later.
What a waste of a day -- will I ever feel in control of my job again?

  1. DO YOU SPEND YOUR DAY ON ENJOYABLE TASKS?
Yes -- I do what I'm good at and delegate the rest.
Sort of -- I feel like I could be using my talents more than I am.
I'm too busy dealing with fires! I never get to do the fun stuff.

  1. HAS DISORGANIZATION EVER COST YOU A CLIENT/ AUTHOR?
    Never.
Once or twice, but I usually regain control before I get complaints.
    Don't ask.
