Add the correct subordinating conjunction--bevor, dass, ob, obwohl, weil, wenn-- to join the two sentences, making the second sentence the dependent clause. Example: Karl geht heute nicht in die Schule. Er ist krank. / Karl geht heute nicht in die Schule, weil er krank ist.
