OFFICIAL COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Students explore the fundamental concepts, terminology, techniques, and applications of digital imaging to create original work. The instructional focus will be on film. Students produce digital animated images through the single or combined use of computers, digital cameras, digital video cameras, scanners, photo editing software, drawing and painting software, graphic tablets, printers, new media, and emerging technologies. Through the critique process, students evaluate and respond to their own work and that of their peers to measure artistic growth. The course incorporates hands-on activities, the use of technology, and consumption of art materials. This course will meet graduation requirement for Performing Fine Arts graduation credit.
ABOUT FALCON COVE FILM:
Mr. Slowik (Fine Arts chair) and I started Film 5 years ago as part of an electives expansion initiative here at Falcon Cove. Our program has evolved to now include Film 2 classes, Film Club and our annual awards and screening Festival. Enrollment has doubled since the 1st year and continues to grow. In addition to reviewing classic and modern film, we are production intensive. We have a subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite with a computer for each and every Film student. Projects range from the simple slideshow to fully conceived and produced short films.
ABOUT MR. HENGGE:
- I am a South Florida Native
- I have a family with a daughter
- I am part Cuban and my Spanish is OK
- I enjoy adventures on land (mountain biking, skateboarding, running, snow skiing) and sea (kayaking, snorkeling)
- I am an amateur guitarist and visual artist (drawing and painting)
- I am a former Walt Disney World Cast member (seasonally worked at THE GREAT MOVIE RIDE from 2000 - 2012)
- I've probably seen "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" 100 times
- I love seeing what my students can do when they work hard and get creative
- I love acting in student productions
- I love teaching Film
