Spiritual Warfare - Ideological Strongholds

Ideological strongholds are built around systems of thoughts and ideas that are common in a family, church, or community. Strongholds are attitudes and behaviors that are present based on the way people think and behave.

An ideological stronghold is a deception brought about by having a wrong philosophy, reasoning, or thought pattern. It is wrong assumptions and false beliefs.

There are many ideas and rituals in the church. People in the church are focusing on the wrong things. Therefore, there is a need for spiritual warfare. Rather than focusing on God, they focus on the pastors. Rather than pastors teaching and preaching the word of God, they are teaching about prosperity and how to be blessed by doing the least.

Worldliness is in the church because of people's ideologies. The church's influence is not only in behavior but in thinking. People in the church have the same mindset as the world.

Someone said that if you watch a video of a church service on a Sunday morning with the sound off, viewers wouldn't be able to distinguish the activities there from what happens in a nightclub on a Saturday night.

Some Christians don't have a different view from that of the world. This causes the need for spiritual warfare. However, every Christian is not prepared for spiritual warfare because it is not taught in the church as it should be.

According to Colossians 2:8 Paul said, “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.”

In order for Christians to win the battle with Satan, their thoughts, ideas, and beliefs need to be changed to the word of God instead of what the world thinks.
