CONCEPT OVERVIEW:
During the rest of June, we will be working on Final Exam Review. The units that we have covered this year are:
- Unit 5: Fresh and Salt Water Systems
- Unit 1: Mix and Flow of Matter
- Unit 2: Cells and Systems
- Unit 4: Mechanical Systems
- Unit 3: Light and Optics
ASSESSMENT:
The last week of classes will be used for in-class final exam review. Our last day of classes will be Friday, June 18th. THE FINAL EXAM FOR SCIENCE 8 WILL BE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 25th.

FINAL EXAM INFORMATION:
You should be preparing for final exams. Below are some "suggested" study calendars to help you get organized with your studying. The dates of your exams are also included on these calendars.
Grade 8 Study Calendar and Exam Dates FINAL EXAM REVIEW MATERIAL:
You will receive these review packages in a BLUE duotang in class so it is not necessary to print them out at home unless you have misplaced your original copy. Please bring your duotang with your review material to class each day. Of course, there are many other things besides this review package that you can do to prepare for your exams, some of these things are:
• Do questions/review pages from your textbooks
• Look back at any old notes, assignments and quizzes (you can take your blue “Unit Binders” home once you have given me your old Unit Exams as those cannot leave the classroom)
• Make cue cards/study notes
• Study with a friend/family member
• Come for extra help

Please see the following link for a schedule of my EXTRA HELP. Please sign up on the board in my classroom if you plan to attend a session. It is not guaranteed that I will be here for sessions that students are not signed up for. If a student is signed up and does not come to my classroom within 15 minutes of the start of the session, I may not wait for them unless I have been told prior to the date that they will be late. I would suggest that each student sign up for AT LEAST one session. It is important when students come to these extra help sessions that they come prepared with questions to ask so that the time is used effectively. Please take advantage of these times!

RE-WRITE POLICY:
If students are not satisfied with their test results, they must complete the following form and return it to me with a study schedule in place. Re-writes will only be given for Unit Exams and will have a strict time-frame for writing.
