Lactic Acid Pathway

Lactic acid is produced when you don't have enough oxygen to meet your energy needs aerobically. Lactic acid often builds up in your muscles when you are exercising vigorously. Your body can't process your food fast enough aerobically. Your muscles start to burn due to the lactic acid. Look at the picture below.
