Glycolysis

Glycolysis is a series of chemical reactions that occur in the
cytosol (liquid portion of the cell's cytoplasm) of the cell.
These chemical reactions involve the systematic breakdown of food
molecules to extract energy from them. In this module, we will
be focusing on the metabolism of glucose, a common food molecule
that is used for energy.
The molecule to the left is glucose drawn without the hydrogens.
If you place your mouse over the graphic, you will see the hydrogens
but for the purposes of this tutorial, we will not show the hydrogens.
