Step 9: And finally,
we're at the end of the phase called glycolysis. The end product
of glycolysis is pyruvic acid, also known as pyruvate. In fact,
any of the acids that end in "...-ic acid" can have the
suffix "...-ate" substituted instead.
This last reaction is catalyzed by the enzyme
pyruvate kinase and results in the generation of ATP. If you look
