    1. My office hours-Tues/Thurs/Friday 3:00pm-3:30pm (by appointment only)
    2. No HOMEWORK CENTER DURING THE WEEK OF Nov2- Nov 6th due to Parent/teacher conferences. Homework Center hours: Mon (Ms. Malek)/Tues (Ms. Zigler)/Thurs (Mrs. White) 3:15-4:00pm

    4. If students are pulled out during class for Friendship Groups it is their responsibility to make up any assignments done in class.
    5. 6/7th Current Events ( Due every Wednesday 7th grade, and every other Thursday for 6th Grade) Current Event Directions (updated)
    6. New format for 6th Grade 1) 3 sentence summary 2) 5-10 sentences opinion.
    7. Articles can be found from a variety reputable newspaper services: SJ Mercury News, SF Chronicle/Gate, BBC, CNN, Times, & MSNBC.
    8. Current Events Rubric page must be attached to every current event. Current Events Rubric
    9. Parent/Teacher Conferences all of next week Monday Nov. 2- Friday Nov. 6th. Minimum days all week school ends at 12:30pm
    10. 6th Book Report #2 Due Date: 1) Select an autobiography or biography book report of at least 125 pgs. by Friday November 6th (bring book to class to receive credit). 2) Book should be read by Friday Dec. 4th 3) Graphic organizer should be completed by Tuesday Dec. 8th 4) Rough draft of written portion due Friday Dec. 11th 5) Final draft for oral presentation and written work due Tuesday Dec. 15th

              Essay Rules

              All rough drafts must be attached to the back when handing in an essay.

              Word Processing

              • Font: Arial or Times New Roman
              • Size: 12 pt.
              • Double Spaced
              • Heading in the upper left-hand corner
              • No extra spaces between the paragraphs and each paragraph must begin indented.
              Handwritten
              • Each paragraph is to be indented.
              • Written in pen in best handwriting
              • Skip lines
              • Heading in the upper left-hand corner
              IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a computer at home and you do not have the ability to print, either email me a copy or save it to the flash drive and I'll be able to open it up on my computer.

              Proper Heading

              A proper heading at the top left-hand side of each paper needs to look like the following:

              Name (First, Last) #
              Assignment
              Class currently attending and homeroom
              Date

              PowerSchool Codes

              U = Ungraded (I haven't graded the papers yet, or the papers haven't yet been collected)
              RE = Redo (0 points) (The student has his/her paper and needs to redo and turn it in for credit)
              M = Missing (0 points)
              AB = Absent (0 points)
              EX = Excused
              If a number or assignment is in blue, click on it and more information will appear.
