About me |
I have been the Spanish teacher at Overbrook School since 1997. I am a native of Auburn, AL. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, a Master of Music in clarinet from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Master in Education from Auburn University. I taught 4th Grade and Kindergarten in a mostly Puerto Rican Catholic school in Philadelphia. After obtaining my certification in Spanish I taught high school for four years in Georgia and Alabama before moving to Tennessee. I also teach Spanish at Aquinas College one night a week. I work with the Middle School Band here at Overbrook and still manage to play clarinet sometimes. My first love is music, but Spanish is such a musical language that it fits right into my top love! My other important worldly loves are my husband, who is from Panamá, and my four boys. |
